Infini-SEA @ Vero Beach FL

USDA Certified Export Facilities

Infini-SEA is a USDA certified facility for international export of L. vannamei. The facilities include more than 20,000 square feet of enclosed biosecure areas specifically designed for conducting all phases of shrimp production.

Biosecure facilities include...

Hatchery

  • Maturation, Spawning, & Hatching

  • Larval rearing zones

Farm

  • Fully enclosed biosecure nursery and grow-out

Quarantine Processes

Infini-SEA is dedicated to keeping our facilities protected and secure through strict biosecurity measures.

  • In-house laboratory for rapid disease surveillance and prevention of specific pathogens known to infect Penaeid shrimps

  • Several isolated zones allowing newly arriving animals to go through a primary and secondary quarantine protocol

  • Micro-habitat chambers for individual broodstock screening

The quarantine facilities have dedicated water systems isolated from other areas of production, allowing for the safe recruitment of new strains.

Quntitative real-time PCR for detecting pathogens

Disease Diagnostic Laboratory

Infini-SEA’s state-of-the-art disease diagnostic laboratory employs real-time PCR (qPCR) to detect 15 specific pathogens known to infect L. vannamei, and other Panaeid shrimps, including...

Genetic Selection Approach

Genomic Assessment & Selective Breeding

Using next generation sequencing technologies, Infini-SEA developed universal

single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) panels for L. vannamei. The SNP panels

are carefully chosen for their properties to represent genetic diversity throughout

L. vannamei genome and used to assess genetic compositions of the populations.

This SNP panel development was supported by Federal funds under award

NA20OAR0210093 from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration –

Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research, U.S. Department of Commerce.

Infini-SEA works collaboratively with customers on phenotypic data collection from

field trials in various locations and culture systems. The data is then integrated into the assessment of breeding values for each breeding goal.
